Popman app is blocked by Google

Hello,

Now all of a sudden Popman access to my Gmail accounts is blocked by Google.
It started on November 15 with no issues for the last 2.5 years since Oauth2 was added to Popman.
I am getting login error 404 in Popman status bar, that is, authorization failure.
When I use "Sign in with Google" from the account properties dialog, I get this message from Google:

This app is blocked.
This app tried to access sensitive info in your Google Account.
To keep your account safe, Google blocked this access.

I am using POP TLS protocol, but I don't think it's an issue, since my Thunderbird is fine.

My best guess, the problem is that Google requires annual recertification by the developer.
They are supposed to contact the developer by email once it’s time to reverify the app.

Is this the case?

Instead of using OAuth2 and the "Sign in with Google" button in PopMan, you can create an App Password and use that as the password in PopMan:

Going forward, how do you intend to resolve the issue in PopMan:
- maintaining OAuth2 support or
- dropping OAuth2 support and expecting App Password for the PopMan account.

Not the answer I was hoping for, since I am not ready for 2FA required for App passwords.
But I suppose, you must have a good reason for this decision.
Thanks anyway.

Too bad, yes, since Google requires 2FA with app passwords that means you can no longer quickly check your mails from the browser. That leaves PopPeeper as only notifier for gmail and Workspace. And now it's definitely time for me to say goodbye to G-Suite Legacy and search for another mailhost for my domains. Google is getting more and more user-unfriendly.

Correction: I have just read that PopPeeper is also dropping OAuth support for Gmail.
