You have suggestions to improve PopMan? Here is the right place to mention them.

Linux version

Post by mjg »

Impressive program. Well done! Will you release a Linux version? I prefer this to Kshowmail.

Edit: I've just discovered that it works great under Wine in Suse 9.2. It saved my settings after exiting. All functions worked, except launching the mail client, which isn't really necessary if you have the program running anyhow.

I'm not planning to release a Linux version, because this would require a complete rewrite of the entire program, which I have not enough time for.
I've tried to run PopMan under Wine some weeks ago, but there have been a few minor problems (e.g. the number of mails is not displayed in the "tray icon"). What version of Wine did you use? What desktop (KDE, Gnome)?

It works perfectly under Wine in Suse 9.2, KDE 3.3, Wine20050211-1.1.

Funny though, I had niggling problems under Wine in SimplyMepis, KDE 3.3 (not sure of Wine version). It wouldn't write to the data file to block spam addresses. No problems in Suse.
