I have this option enabled.
I launch email client (since I want to read my new mail) and the new mail indicator is not reset.

I can not reproduce the problem you describe.

How many accounts do you have configured with PopMan?
What are the exact settings of the TrayIcon tab in the options dialog?
Is the new mail count reset correctly when you open and then minimize the PopMan main window?

Show number of messages in tray is checked and the radio mark is next to show number of all messages. The rest are left unchecked.

The new mail count is set correctly. The PopMan main window is correct and minimized. Then I right click on the icon -> Email Client, and the mail count is not reset.

If you have the setting "show number of all messages" then of course the tray icon shows the number of all messages and not just the number of the new mails. If you want the number of the "new" mail you would chose "show number of new messages" which is reset when opening and closing PopMan and when launching the email client. So where is the problem, after all?

I now understand and agree with the implementation when "show number of all messages" is set.

My feature request was to _temporarily_ change the tray icon to Tray_Mail or Tray_Empty when launching the email client even when "show number all messages" was selected. However I understand your design choice and in the _most_ of cases this will work for my use. I initially didn't choose the show new messages option since I did not like when opening/closing PopMan that the number of messages reset. *shrug* perhaps I will stay with show all messages and just do a check mail after I open the client.
