Preview messages from selected accounts only

Post by Darkbee »

I'd like to see a drop down box on the toolbar to select 1 (possibly multiple) email accounts so that I can preview the emails from that account only.

If you have several email accounts with lots of email on each then quickly viewing email, even with colour coding, can be tricky.

There already is a drop down button on the toolbar (the update button), that has a little black triangle on its rigth side. If you click this part of the button, a list of all accounts appears...

Sorry, perhaps I didn't make the request clear.

What I mean is that I want to filter the emails based on a selected account. Right now I have to view all emails from all accounts all at once. What you are describing allows me to refresh one particular account at a time.

So, assume I have mailbox A, B and C. Right now I can set each mailbox to a different colour but I want to be able to say "Show me only email from mailbox A" OR "Show me email from B and C but NOT A". The current functionality only allows me to view all emails from mailboxes A, B and C (perhaps I'm wrong, please let me know if that is the case)

Does that make sense?? I hope so!

It does make sense (to me), and I'd like it as well. :)

OK, that makes sense!

But maybe it would be better if there was a separate listview for each account placed on its own tab? Similar to the multi-tab browsing of Firefox, you have a tab for each account and one "View All" tab...

What do you think?

Oh yes, I like that: multi-tabs:) But do keep an 'overall view' as well, please.

Ok, well that is a good compromise if it is easier for you to code. Something is better than nothing is the way I look at it.

Just one small thing though, this would only give you the ability to view email from mailbox A OR mailbox B OR mailbox C OR mailbox A, B and C. So my question is, what about mailbox A and B but not C?

If this makes it infinitely harder to code then your tab suggestion would be great. Like I said earlier, something is better than nothing and 9 times out of 10 I only want to view 1 mailbox at a time (rather than a selection) so your solution would be perfect.

Thank you for your positive response.

Hi Christian,

when do you think this can be implemented...? That would be so great to keep the overview...... I have about 8 accounts for checking.....

Finally, multi-tabbing works! See the 1.3 Beta page...

To use an Americanism, the tab feature totally rocks but would it be possible to have a tooltip, for each tab, displaying the accounts associated with that tab?

I wonder if it is possible to have a default tab (that is always available) which displays ALL accounts or do you think this is unecessary since I can just switched multi-tab view off?
