Thanks for the update, Christian. I'm glad to know that PopMan, which has always been one on my must-have programs, is still actively developed and supported.

This doesn't work here. Taken from the file HowSettingsAreStored.txt:

By default, all PopMan settings (e.g. email account information) are stored
in the Windows registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PopMan
You can use the Windows tool regedit.exe to modify the settings.
All user specific files (log files, black list, white list, rules, temp files)
are stored in the Application Data folder. The exact name depends on
the system language and your user name, e.g.:

English: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\PopMan
German: C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\BENUTZERNAME\Anwendungsdaten\PopMan

If you want to store the settings into an ini File instead of the registry,
you only need to create an empty file called PopMan.ini in the PopMan folder.
On the next PopMan startup, all settings are imported from the registry
and will be saved to this ini file when PopMan quits. The user specific files
are stored in the PopMan subfolder "Data".

Does this also apply to Windows 10 (64-bit Pro)? The folder C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen is hidden and cannot be accessed even if made visible. A subfolder "Data" does not exist here. This is the path that I have found: C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Roaming\PopMan I tried to put a newly created file PopMan.ini into that folder, but this didn't seem to work, either. Any ideas how I can save my settings in an *.ini file? Maybe settings should be stored in such a file by default. This would be much easier than trying to save your settings via regedit.exe. Anyway, thanks for your help in advance.

Kind regards,
Christian :)

By "PopMan folder" I mean the folder that contains the PopMan.exe.

Because of the Windows security features, programs should not store settings in the folder C:\Program Files. Therefore, you should use the ZIP archive distribution, if you want to store settings in PopMan.ini file. Then, of course, uncompress the ZIP archive to somewhere outside of C:\Program Files.

PopMan.exe can be found here: C:\Programme (x86)\PopMan > PopMan.exe (I have always used the regular installer instead of the zip file.)

Does this mean that in my case going to regedit.exe is the only way to store my settings? Hm... An Import/Export Settings button in PopMan options would be great. 8)

OK, I'm now using the ZIP archive distribution. :D
