White List

Post by tengvilla »

Hi Christian,

It's me again, tengvilla, and got a question.

On my White List, I have these web sites; facebookmail.com & google.com

Every time I received a message from facebookmail.com and google.com from the three below, PopMan 1.3 deleted it.

1. notification+zj4o_o=2446y@facebookmail.com
2. update+zj4o_o=2446y@facebookmail.com
3. noreply+feedproxy@google.com

Thanks

Please check your BLACK list. Maybe you used the wrong list for these email addresses.

I only have black listed 20 web sites and have no "facebook" nor "google" connected name on that black list. Didn't even used any "regular expression". I even deleted all entry on my black list a long time ago, still having a problem. Thanks anyway.

Please tell me what rule causes the deletion of these mails, so I can better investigate why the White List is ineffective.

Hi Christian,

There's only one rule "Subject is empty OR Subject not is empty -> Delete"

Thanks

That means you want to delete all mails except those comming from senders on the white list, right?
I just tested this setup and it works as expected. Maybe PopMan fails to properly extract the sender (From) mail address from the mail and therefore does not find it on the white list. When you use the "Trust sender" context menu entry, does it add the correct mail address to the white list?

You could also check PopManLogFile.log and RuleLogFile.log. Maybe the entries in these log files help to find a solution to your problem. Are the email addresses in these log files identical with the addresses you added to your white list?

"PopManLogFile.log and RuleLogFile.log" applied to my "WhiteList.dat, Rules.txt & BlackList.dat".

Only these three entries were being deleted; 1. notification+zj4o_o=2446y@facebookmail.com, 2. update+zj4o_o=2446y@facebookmail.com & 3. noreply+feedproxy@google.com even though they were on my "White List". And YES, they were identical on my PopManLogFile.log & RuleLogFile.log.

I don't know if the special character "plus [+]" sign had something to do with the deletion. Only the above three on my "WhiteList.dat" had a plus sign being deleted. Blacklist.dat had no plus sign.

Christian/Buddel,

I found the answer.

I deleted "Subject is empty OR Subject not is empty -> Delete" and left my "rules.txt blank.
