And I guess the next step would be a menu option to select the buttons of your choice. Create a folder "skins" (or whatever) and put all *.bmp files in there. That way the user can select and view several sets of buttons!

And yes, after some editing this is my second attempt at a new set of buttons. A little bit bigger then normal, and based upon "old" Beos icons 8)

Image

Right click here and save it to the Popman folder as "toolbar.bmp".

New images for toolbar!

This is my first attempt at new images for the toolbar. Okay, okay, I admit: they're "stolen" from the Nautical theme for Thunderbird. Anyway, the buttons are (just) a little bit bigger than normal. Did you make another set of buttons? Put them in this thread!! http://www.xs4all.nl/~baarse...

Okay, to answer my own question: Yes, it seems that Popman divides the width of the toolbar.bmp by eight :-) So buttons can be bigger than 15x16! See my example in another subject...

You're kidding, aren't you? If you're not, how can I make bigger icons? Or does Popman divide the width of toolbar.bmp by eight?

Re: How often should I check?

So is this a load of nonsense? Is there any reason to fear checking my mail server extremely frequently? It's not a load of nonsense, I think common sense is the only good answer. Of course, if everyone is going to check his/her mail every minute, servers all over the world will explode. And why wo...

- I never imagined that anyone would need it (why not just use the ini-file?!) Aaaah ... finally, someone who understands it! I also coded some programs, Pick-a-Tag being the most known, and always users are asking "why not use the registry instead of the ini-file?". My standard reply alw...

Popman.ini to registry?

All settings were writen to te ini-file, I backed it up, reinstalled my system, restored the ini and everything worked as before. But when I deleted the ini file, it came back after I clo...

When hidden in the tray, Popman needs around 900 kB at my system. When I open the window, memory usage goes up to around 2000-4000 kB or more, depending on the amount of emails in the accounts. I hope this answers your question!

Re: Flag selected emails

Darkbee wrote:So, what do people think, is this a useful option or just risking Popman falling into the Bloatware category?
I'm afraid it does ... 8) Popman is becoming more and more a complete client, I think your email-client should handle this. Or do you use Popman to reply to your mail?

I tried to create some nice looking buttons, but 15x16 is damn small... would it be possible to make them a little bit bigger? Or even better, choose between small and "large" icons?

Might be a nice option for 1.4, or even 2.0 :? But, as you said yourself, PM is clean and simple, and I think functionality is more important than user-designed-buttons...

It might be handy to publish that list, for example as a sticky subject in the announcements section of the forum!
