You could increase the timer interval that Popman uses to check for new mail: Click Tools Click Options Click tab AutoCheck Set the prefered timer interval! Click OK It is advised not to set this interval to a very low setting. It's no use to check every minute for new mail, for example. This will g...

Christian,

What is keeping you from releasing this one as 1.3? Popman is in beta for almost four years now ..

I agree with Christian: it's almost no use to put these addresses in your blacklist. Take the following example, from your list: sgpyhcntr@hotmail.com These are just nine random chosen letters. I guess the spammer who used this address will not use it again, but take tgpyhcntr@hotmail.com or sgpyhcn...

Mute mode

I'd like to see a "mute mode" into Popman. Last night, I was listening music on my PC, turned up the speakers and scared the sh*t out of myself when Popman checked for new mail and played it's sound. Of course it's possible to disable the autocheck from the tray, but then I'll miss importa...

Do you use Windows Vista? I did not test it there. I do use Vista ... Popman works perfectly, by the way. It sounds a little strange however, that some programs (other than Popman) use my default browser (which is, of cource, Firefox), whilst Popman is the only one (as far as I have experienced) wh...

WISH LIST

I collected all, or probably most, of our "wishes" in this list. Before posting a new request, please check if it's not already in this list. I will try to update this list with every new release, so it will stay up-to-date! * Show linktargets of links in email in the status bar Show the l...

Links open in IE

Christian, I'm very happy to see that you're developing Popman again! There's still a little glitch in beta 15, that is there since a long time: when I click a link in the preview pane, the link always opens in Internet Explorer, although I use Firefox as my default browser. When I click the new lin...

Beta 13 / 1.3 Final ?

Hi Christian, Still developing PopMan? It had been very silent for the last few months, and since the first beta of PopMan 1.3 (beta 1, 2004-11-01) has been released for almost two years ago, it might be time for another (beta) release? I noticed a lot of suggestions and feature requests on the foru...

if we join effots we will defeat spammers I'm afraid we'll never "defeat" spammers. Using a wordlist like this will absolutely filter some stuff, but it would become a HUGE list, if we have to enter every possible forbidden word AND all senders which are allowed to sent any message. I thi...

Confirmation on emptying trash

I think the subject speaks for itself... when you empty the trash, there'should be some kind of confirmation, like when you delete a message without using the "mark for deletion" option.

Okay, if you're talking about the "mark for deletion" option, it's there from beta 12. See here for more details about this version. In the latest beta, when you mark a message for deletion, it's not deleted immediately, but will be done when you click "Empty Trash" on the menu. ...

You mean this thread? "It would be nice ...". That's a suggestion, not a question, so there's nothing to answer 8)

I think it should be possible, but not advised, to use a rule like this: Mail contains any of {".pif", ".bat", ".scr", "etcetera"} -> MarkForDelete This rule should check the raw source of the message, and the attachment should be somewhere in there. So this r...

Alternative log

Christian, I just turned on logging, hoping to see the results of some of the rules I created. The log grows very fast, because everything is entered in the log, including the complete messages. This makes the log very unusefull in my eyes. I suggest to create an alternative log option, which shows ...
